Animated Exeter : Art You Grew Up With

From the 16th February to the 2nd of March Gloss Gallery will be exhibiting work based on the animations and animated characters children and adults alike have come to know and love.

As part of Animated Exeter, Gloss Gallery will be displaying; books, limited edition and original prints, from both hand-drawn and digitally-drawn animators across the years.

This exhibition aims to provide both an informative and visually engaging platform to display underrepresented work to older and younger audiences and will chart a journey through the ever changing methods of animation.

On the 22nd February, 10am-4pm, Leon Cauchois (Devon-based animator) will be heading a one-day only workshop to coincide with the exhibition. Participants will have the opportunity to create a character of their own imagination and make it come to life through animation!

Open Call: British Naive Artists

Gloss Gallery are inviting submissions from British Naive Artists for an upcoming, exciting new show.

Running from 9th March – 4th May 2013 we will be showcasing the best of what Britain has to offer.

Naive art – sometimes referred to as ‘outsider art’ – is a form of work characterised by a perceived lack of training. Although often lacking a degree or professional training naive artists are able to sometimes see the world and produce work a formally trained artist would be proud of.

If you would like to be part of this fantastic opportunity please submit 5 images to art@glossgallery.co.uk or a link to your website with the title ‘Open Call for British Naive Artists’

Deadline for submissions: 12pm Monday 18th February We look forward to seeing your work!
